About Secure Steps
Secure Steps is a national nonprofit organization founded at UC Berkeley, dedicated to raising awareness and empowering survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV). Our mission is to bridge the gap in support services by providing education, resources, and advocacy that empower individuals and communities to take action against IPV.
What began as an initiative to address gaps in support for IPV shelters has evolved into a multifaceted organization focused on prevention, education, and survivor empowerment. Through innovative programs like our campus awareness campaigns, expert-led events, and resource development efforts, Secure Steps strives to foster a safer and more informed society.
At Secure Steps, we believe that knowledge is the key to empowerment. By equipping individuals with the tools to recognize and address IPV, we aim to create a future where survivors are supported, and prevention is a priority. Together, we can take meaningful steps toward building safer communities and ending the cycle of violence.
